Lanier House
Step inside a Gilded Age Mansion
Lanier House occupies a Beaux-Arts landmark on East 35th Street in Murray Hill. Designed by Hoppin & Koen, the building stretches wide with Ionic pilasters, a copper mansard, and stonework that has defined the block since 1903.
Lanier House lands somewhere between a friend’s townhouse and a membership club. The house offers approximately 2,700 square feet of principal entertaining space across five rooms, held for one occasion at a time. There are no other guests, no shared lobbies, and no competing events. The house is entirely yours.

The principal rooms include The Gallery, a grand reception hall with gold-leaf wall panels and fourteen-foot ceilings; The Gilded Salon, the principal living room of the Second Floor with bay windows and a working fireplace; The Library, oak-panelled and unchanged since 1903; the Formal Dining Room, set beneath a rock-crystal chandelier with Parquet de Versailles underfoot; and The Parlor, a gracious connecting room with original plasterwork. A fully equipped professional kitchen operates at the lower level, and a walled garden courtyard is available seasonally.
What we arrange together
Lanier House provides white-glove venue services for every booking: a dedicated event liaison, a professional kitchen available for your caterer, furniture and lighting configuration, and full venue exclusivity from arrival through departure. The house does not supply catering or audio-visual equipment directly, but maintains preferred relationships with the city’s finest providers and can facilitate introductions on request.
